Description

three months ago, a whole lot of everything changed in my life- the details aren't really important. i sustained a rather severe injury to my dominant hand then- it's since healed completely, although it isn't exactly pretty, and my hand works kind of strangely now. my grip is much weaker, i drop things a lot, and occasionally i'll get an odd twitch and end up inadvertently tossing/dropping whatever i'm holding (forks, pencils, etc).

for a long time i couldn't make a complete fist, although now i can, mostly. the injury occurred on the joints of my pinky and ring fingers where they meet my hand, and those joints like to seize up now, especially if i do something like... hold a pencil for awhile. (the scar has a habit of randomly itching like crazy, too).

all of this sounds really frustrating, but it kind of isn't. im not really sure. i think it's the reason i've suddenly been drawing again, though. nothing really important, just sketchy doodly stuff; doodles that are kind of a side-effect of me sitting around letting my mind wander, focusing on some things and avoiding others.

i think i might be feeling better than i have in a long time. i think i might not be, too. i don't really know. i do know that i've missed graphite.

Aside from the feline chatter, the design is cool and stylistic. Kind of reminds me of a rune or insignia of some sort.

It's good to see some Ivy work, however it comes. An injury to the dominant hand is an artist's nightmare. I've tried to imagine losing mine and starting from scratch teaching my stupid left hand to take over and the mere thought is disturbing. Those ticks that you're talking about are scary as hell. I don't know for sure, but I think nerves eventually heal but take a longer time than other injuries to do it. At least that's how it was when I had nerve damage on my precious toe. Best wishes.

Ugh. I have 10k+ deviations in my watch-box. It's so overwhelming that I've just taken to using a browser plugin (ImageHost Grabber) to download galleries of artists that I like. The downside is having to remember to manually check their galleries for updates.
